Richard "Mack" Thomas (ASCAP) Singer/Songwriter
My name is Richard "Mack" Thomas a country music singer and songwriter. I recently became a member of ASCAP after several years of writing and performing. I was a semi-finalist in the Colgate Country Music Showdown held in Shawnee, Oklahoma in 2005 and was showcased on WKML 95.7 in Fayettville, N.C. with the song "Tulsa" (co-written with my friend Mike Jones) in 2004. I also recently was offered a songwriters contract by Paramount Group in Nashville on June 9th 2007.
I was born and raised in Florida and spent 4 years in the Marine Corps (1989-1993) and 9 years in the Army (1995-2004) and currently live in Lawton, Oklahoma with my beautiful wife and best friend Sara. Together we have 5 children; Mack, Brianna, Stephen, Zack and D.J.
I enjoy playing and singing every chance I get and truely love writting new songs. The biggest influences on me are Waylon Jennings, Johnny Cash, David Alan Coe, Merle Haggard and all of the "outlaw" singers of the 70's and 80's. I also love the new traditional country singers such as Alan Jackson and Gary Allen and of course George Strait who is a living legend in country music.
I hope you like my songs as much as I liked writing and performing them. They are raw in every aspect! My emotions and feelings about everyday people in everyday life and they were all recorded with just me and my guitar. Most were recorded in my home immediately after they hit me. I look forward to your comments so make sure you let me know what you think; good, bad or indifferent. Thank you for visiting my site.
